2005 Layer Cake Shiraz (Barossa Valley, Australia)
regular price $16.99 special price $15.29
A product of the dusty soils of the Barossa Valley, the Pure Love Wines Estate Shiraz Series is the creation of Canadian born and Napa Valley based wine visionary Jayson Woodbridge. Layer Cake is an ode to Woodbridge’s grandfather who always told him that the “soil where wine is grown is like a Layer Cake, layered with mocha, chocolate, hints of spice and rich, always rich.” This is a piece of cake that is definitely worth the calories!
2003 Gibson Barossa Vale Shiraz (South Australia, Australia)
regular price $49.99 special price $29.99
This small family run winery is a specialist producer of limited quantities of premium table wines is fast garnering a reputation as a reliable producer of richly flavoured and complex wine. Rob Gibson spent some time working for Australian wine giant Penfolds where he honed his winemaking skills. This is a BIG wine but at this BIG discount won’t be around for long!
2004 The Colonial Estate Envoy Grenache/Shiraz/Mourvedre (Barossa Valley, Australia)
regular price $19.99 special price $17.99
This winery is the outpost of a well-known Englishman and Bordeaux proprietor Jonathan Maltus producing high quality wines possessing outstanding concentration and intensity along with considerable finesse and elegance. We’ve only had this wine for 2 weeks and have already sold out twice! It’s that good!
2005 The Black Chook Shiraz/Viognier (South Australia, Australia)
regular price $19.99 special price $17.99
The big brother to Woop Woop, this wine is a collaboration of 2 renowned Australian winemakers. They produce this full bodied rich powerful Shiraz that is tempered by the femininity of the softer Viognier. If you like the original French blending of these grape varieties then you must try the Aussie’s version! You won’t be disappointed!
2004 The Love Grass Shiraz, d’Arenberg (McLaren Vale, Australia)
regular price $17.99 special price $16.19
Would you believe that a teetotaler founded this vineyard in 1912? Each generation since then has been growing grapes and handcrafting high quality wines. A wild grass, “the Love Grass”, often grows in the vineyards and during harvest the sticky, Velcro-like, long stemmed flowers affectionately attach themselves to the workers’ socks (and even get caught in Coco, the winery dog’s coat!) This Shiraz will linger with you in much the same way as the sticky flowers do and, as such, the family thought it fitting to name this wine ‘The Love Grass’
2002 Wynns Cabernet/Shiraz/Merlot (Coonawarra, Australia)
regular price $17.99 special price $16.19
Founded by a Scottish pioneer in 1891, Wynns Coonawarra Estate was the first to realize the great potential of the unique terra rosa (red clay) soils in the region. Today Wynns is the predominant producer in the area known for distinctive flavors and consistent quality. These wines are always great values!!
2002 Penfolds “St. Henri” Shiraz
regular price $39.99 special price $29.99
We just received our shipment of the best-ever 2002 Penfolds “ST. Henri” Shiraz (rated above the great 2001 Grange and equal to the 1998 Grange by Australia’s leading wine critic) and it’s even greater than we remembnerd! This is one seriously (even historically) great shiraz (the best in nearly 50 year history of this wine, which both Penfolds and the Aussie press see as an equal to the Grange). And at less than a seventh the price of Grange, it’s a uniquely great bargain, too.
