2004 Macon-Verze, Domaine Leflaive (Burgundy, France)

Founded in 1717, Domaine Leflaive has long been considered one of the most highly regarded white wine growers in Burgundy. Currently under the stewardship of Anne-Claude Leflaive, the Domaine's conversion to biodynamic farming in 1990 has produced remarkable results, raising the standard for one of the world's greatest wines even higher. This 2004 was her inaugural vintage for this wine, and with her Montrachet going for over $2000—this is a bargain!!!

The Aussie Salute is a blend of spicy Grenache, succulent Shiraz and a whiff of aromatic Viognier- a feisty combination that works wonders on the palate. 2004 Eremo, Fontafredda (Piedmonte, Italy)

The Fontanafredda estate is synonymous with wines from Barolo and has been since 1878.   The “Eremo” is a blend of 30% Nebbiolo and 70% Barbera.  The wine has a dense ruby red color with offers aromas of red currant, blackberry and blueberry with nuances of chocolate and coffee. On the palate the sweet and smooth tannins of Nebbiolo give volume and roundness and mingle with the acidity of Barbera, giving freshness and length to the finish. 88 Pts Wine Spectator

2002 Majella Cabernet Sauvignon (Coonawarra, Australia)

The 2002 vintage in Australia is on par, and possibly better than the legendary ’98. We grabbed the last 8 cases and when it’s gone, it’s gone. Dark red. Very ripe, peppery mulberry and cherry scents, with strong notes of roasted coffee, maple and toffee. Dense, even viscous, with flavors of roasted cherry, coffee bean and dark chocolate. Finishes with redcurrant and pepper notes, and very soft tannins.
