We invite you to take a closer look:
- The American Cancer Society South Atlantic Division invested $11,638,000 invested at Maryland research institutions.
- 5,733 people from Maryland reached out to the American Cancer Society through our 24-hour, 7-day per week, toll free number 1-800-227-2345.
- 4318 cancer patients from Maryland were provided resources, services or programs.
- 461 newly diagnosed breast cancer patients in Maryland were linked with breast cancer survivors who offered support and information in the Reach to Recovery program.
- 552 cancer patients received help with transportation through our Road to Recovery program or transportation assistance.
- 384 women with cancer were taught how to manage the appearance-related side effects of treatment by volunteer cosmetologists with the Look Good…Feel Better program.
- 264 cancer patients were serviced by our Dietitian On Call
- 85 cancer patients were managed by our Patient Advocate
- 305 wigs were provided to cancer patients
- $152,300 was returned to the communities throughout Maryland through various grants and college scholarships
- 23 Marylanders stayed free of charge at The Baltimore Hope Lodge for 2890 nights
- Reached 9,594 Marylanders through our community based education and awareness programs
- 116 childhood cancer survivors and their siblings participated in a camping experience free of charge and
- 23 survivors received $15,500 in college scholarships
